Here's a check list of what we do:

Data Acquisition

  1. We work with vendors to get their catalog data: pricefiles, PDFs, images, descriptions
  2. If needed we'll find and extract data from PDFs, word documents, and websites
  3. We work with vendors to get their catalog updates, and then we rebuild their catalog feeds so your information stays current.
Price File Scrubbing

  1. Scrub price file and remove non-retail items such as displays and promotional items
  2. Expand abbreviations 'wms' changed to 'womens', 'chkpd' changed to 'Cheek Pad'
  3. All data consistent 'red/ green' and red/grn' both converted to just 'red/green'
  4. Create size field and populate from data in the provided description field
  5. Create color field and populate from data in the provided description field
  6. Extract and format other item properties that may be encoded into the item name field such as vehicle information
  7. Define section tags for proper categorization and online browsing
  8. Define subsection tags for proper categorization and online browsing
  9. Set priority of items so they are displayed in proper order
Image Collection and Formatting

  1. Locate the correct source image for each product
  2. Large images are formatted for web use from the original source images
  3. Thumbnails are created so every thumbnail is correctly sized
  4. link image to item and populate image-file name field
  5. Propagate image-file name to items of the same color but different size
Description Collection and Formatting

  1. Locate the correct description for each item
  2. HTML format the description for the web
  3. Populate description field and add description for all items of the same type
Cross Reference Table Generation

  1. For items such as vehicles we build a cross reference table
  2. Expand and scrub all cross reference keys (i.e. '02-05 KXF250F' and '02-05 KX 250F' are expanded and converted to the same xref items across all suppliers)
Filtering, Customization and Data Merge

  1. Through a variety of filtering methods, you are able to select only the items you want for your catalog feed
  2. We can upload your pricefile and merge it with the vendor catalog so your descriptions, images, part-numbers and prices are used.
Inventory Integration

  1. Establish access to inventory file via FTP or HTTP
  2. Update all items against the inventory file
  3. Remove items that are discontinued
  4. Create Availability Table to show which versions of an item are in stock
Testing

  1. Item name - abbreviation expanded, size and color values removed, spelling
  2. Size - correctly extracted from name field. All values consistent (i.e 'sm' and 'small' both set to small)
  3. Color - correctly extracted from name field. All values consistent (i.e 'red/orange' and 'red/orng' set to 'red/orange')
  4. Description - spelling, correctly formatted, correct item, accurate
  5. Images - large images and thumbnails matching source. Thumbnails correct size. Correct items / image pair
  6. Verify inventory access verify items update correctly. verify removal of disco items
Reformatting

  1. Once we have the data in a structured format, we then make pre-formatted files for a variety of target systems such as ebay, yahoo, amazon, oscommerce, and more.
Automatic Change Notifications

  • You are notified by email whenever a catalog changes
